Together with the kitchen retailer, Onlinekeukenveiling goes for the highest possible yield from the showroom kitchens. To achieve this, Onlinekeukenveiling has recently started offering assembly. It's an extra service, completely focused on realizing the highest possible yield for the kitchen specialist. We catch up with Leon van Wijk, co-owner of Onlinekeukenveiling at its headquarters in 's-Hertogenbosch.

Lower threshold

When purchasing a kitchen on the Onlinekeukenveiling website, you can recently choose additional services. In fact, there are three packages. With the Bronze Package, a piping diagram will be made of the kitchen. With the Silver Package, in addition to the piping diagram, there is also disassembly (in the kitchen store) and delivery of the showroom kitchen. With the Gold Package, the company goes even further by adding the measuring, assembly and connection of the kitchen. In this way, the threshold for purchasing a showroom kitchen is lowered and the likelihood of a good sale is increased.

"Our own research showed that many website visitors were dropping out and not buying because the assembly service was missing. We naturally listened to this and responded to it," says Leon van Wijk. With experienced people in the office, the company also has a lot of specialized knowledge. "That is really necessary, because assembling a showroom kitchen can sometimes be a bit more complicated than assembling a new kitchen," adds Leon van Wijk. In this way, Onlinekeukenveiling responds to market demand. And... not unimportantly: value is added to the chain! 

Building a platform

In addition to selling showroom kitchens, Online Kitchen Auction is also known for buying and selling used kitchens. Every day as many as eight to ten people offer their used kitchen through the website. The old owners are helped by professional dismantling of the kitchen and new owners buy with peace of mind from a reputable party. Leon van Wijk: "It's a niche in the market, but it's on the rise. It's nice to also see that good quality kitchens don't end up in the dumpster indiscriminately."

Boundless

Since April 2023, the company has also been actively serving Belgian kitchen specialty stores. Attracting Nino Brodelet, a well-known within the Belgian kitchen market, was a hit. More and more entrepreneurs are hearing about the concept and experiencing the convenience of selling through Onlinekeukenveiling. "We expect sales in Belgium to double in 2024 compared to 2023," says Leon.

The next step

When asked what the next step is, he replied with a smile; "I'm keeping that one to myself for now! We now need our energy and focus primarily to ensure that these services run smoothly." After all, the expansions with these new services should not impede the services to kitchen specialty stores. "Despite all the new developments we are initiating, the relationship with the kitchen retailer remains, of course, the most important thing for us," Leon concludes.
