Kitchen trends 2025 - Kitchen will become the central hub in every household

If the trade professional wants to know what the kitchen trends for 2025 will be, Dekker Zevenhuizen usually has the preview during the summer period. So too this year. Speaking is Product and Marketing Director Ben van Elk: "The kitchen is more open than ever and will increasingly flow into the rest of the interior. At the same time, we see that more interior elements are being added while functionality -it should also just be possible to cook! - is not lost sight of for a second."

"Our trend forecaster Monique van der Reijden calls this trend 'Sculpture Club,'" Ben continues. "You'll find a mix of materials with a light, natural base. Think of sustainable materials like sandstone, marble, onyx and light woods. Matcha green is a striking accent color at that. This creates a soft, luxurious, sensual atmosphere full of energy. With the kitchen island, of course, as a true eye-catcher, a sculpture that steals the show."

"Never before have so many new forms for the kitchen island been on the horizon. The essence is best described as 'light and spacious' in an oasis of natural materials. I think this will add to the personality of the kitchen that will make us spend even more time in it. The hub of one's home! The kitchen may have already become the social hub in recent years but for the years to come, this position will only become firmer and firmer."

Zooming in further on the products that match these trends, one can think of really anything from countertops and backsplashes to also accessories such as faucets, sinks and lighting. "They come in different price ranges, but they are always harmoniously matched. You can decorate the entire kitchen with them."

Ben explains that in addition, consumers are increasingly asking about the origin of a kitchen worktop. So, how it was produced, what raw materials were used -and are they sustainable- and under what conditions were worked. "We too have a keen eye for this," says Ben. "For us it was always a matter of course to do business sustainably. This is partly why we offer plenty of choice when it comes to sustainable materials with a lifelike and natural look. I'm thinking of Cosmolite, Obsidiana and Greengridz."

Cosmolite

Cosmolite® consists 100% of minerals from industrial waste. The pressed tops have a beautiful marble or natural stone look and the kitchen worktop is 100% recyclable. The latest color White Teti has a light tint and subtle veins that continue into the edge of the worktop.

Obsidiana

This material consists of recycled glass with binding resin. From the compressed material, blocks are pressed and sheets are cut that can be worked into kitchen worktops. Not just once but endlessly. This new warm gray concrete shade possesses a very fine pattern that makes it just not plain. This top can also be easily combined with other materials and colors. This makes any kitchen durable without compromising on quality and style.

Greengridz

Greengridz is an innovative and environmentally friendly base material that requires fewer raw materials, generates fewer CO2 emissions and because it is circular, generates no waste. Look at TopLaminate Cupid, for example: the light base color combined with the coarse veins with their warm brown-black tones have a whimsical pattern all over the worktop.

See, feel and experience the materials for yourself?

You can do so at the Dekker Trend Centre in Löhne (D) during the Architecturwerkstatt 2024. It will take place from Sept. 21 to 26. More information can be found at www.architekturwerkstatt.com
