AEG AT THE KÜCHENMEILE 2023: a sustainable look at design and delivering top performance 

From September 17 to 21, the Küchenmeile took place again, the leading trade fair for kitchen trends, design and innovations. At the Kitchen Center in Löhne, AEG showed its most sustainable range, AEG EcoLine, complemented by novelties such as the elegant SaphirMatt hobs, the handy MultiChill 0°C fridge-freezer and the new 70 cm ComboHob hobs for even more design freedom in the kitchen.

 For years, AEG has been producing appliances as sustainably as possible so that the impact on the environment is also minimized. For example, we have reduced CO2 emissions during production and transportation by as much as 82% since 2015 and are aiming to produce completely climate-neutral by 2030. Scientifically1 substantiated insights indicate that 85% of the environmental impact of a household appliance occurs during the use of that appliance. 

To help consumers choose an appliance that also has the least environmental impact during use, AEG has developed EcoLine. These are not only the most energy-efficient appliances, they are also more sustainable in other ways. For example, by using recycled plastic or less water. In addition, they feature the latest technologies specifically tailored for ease of use and are aimed at reducing environmental impact - every day.

- AEG EcoLine ovens in which minerals and vitamins are preserved. In steam mode, these ovens use up to 20% less energy2 and have a steam cleaning function that saves up to 95% of energy compared to cleaning by pyrolysis3 

-AEG EcoLine refrigerators-AEG's most energy-efficient models-with interior linings (up to 70%) made from recycled plastic4. In addition, with GreenZone technology, up to 95% of vitamins are preserved 

- AEG EcoLine dishwashers help users save up to 20% of energy thanks to the QuickSelect control panel with ECOmeter. The satelliteClean spray arms also offer 3x better spray coverage without using more water, and AirDry delivers 3x better drying performance without extra energy consumption.

AEG is introducing the AEG 8000 Bridge XT SaphirMatt cooktop with scratch-resistant glass this fall. The unique SaphirMatt ceramic glass withstands daily use and wear and tear, such as pans being dragged across the cooktop, without scratching it. In fact, it resists 4 times fewer scratches compared to a standard AEG cooktop. 

The SaphirMatt is easy to maintain because it is stain and fingerprint resistant and is 2 times faster to clean compared to AEG's standard cooking surfaces. The elegant black matte finish adds a touch of style to any kitchen and is also 80% less reflective than a standard surface. 

The SaphirMatt cooktops have the same look and feel as the AEG MattBlack ovens and fit perfectly with the new matte color trend in kitchens.

With the new 9000-series fridge-freezer NSC9V181CS MultiChill 0°C, cooking starts right in the fridge. By activating special programs via the app, ingredients are already prepared. The MultiChill 0°C thus offers flexibility, helps prepare meals and carefully protects food quality. The advanced MultiChill 0°C compartment can be easily adjusted via the app to what is kept in it, independent of the rest of the refrigerator. Whether it is fresh fish, fresh meat, fruits, vegetables or a leftover, freshly prepared meal. In addition, it can be used for slow defrosting or marinating. Need more cooling space? Then the freezer can be simply transformed into additional cooling space. Model NSC9V181CS, with its low energy consumption and interior lining made of up to 70% recycled plastic, is part of the AEG EcoLine range. 

The new 8000 series refrigerator-freezers NSC8M191DS and NSC8M181DC are also part of the EcoLine selection. These models feature a stainless steel back panel. This not only provides a premium look but also retains cold better. Thanks to air holes in the back wall, cold air is circulated 360° resulting in 30% better temperature distribution compared to standard refrigerators. Food is thus better protected and stays fresh longer. Also in these refrigerator-freezers, the interior lining is made of up to 70% recycled plastic. Starting with the 7000 series, AEG fridge-freezers are equipped with a GreenZone or GreenZone+ drawer. Thanks to the ideal humidity in this sealed drawer, fruits and vegetables do not dry out but also do not become too moist. Premature spoilage is thus prevented and up to 95% of vitamins are retained after 11 days. The GreenZone+ drawer is set automatically using a special membrane, with the GreenZone drawer this must be done manually.

The popular and practical ComboHob (hood and induction hob in one) - is now also available in 70 cm. This new hob gives you all the freedom for creativity when designing a kitchen without the restriction of extractor hood location and pan size. AEG introduces three new models equipped with the convenient bridge function, where two zones can be combined into one large one, and with easy, interactive controls. And thanks to the practical Auto Breeze function, odors are automatically removed after cooking. Extra advantage: this model can be built into a 60 cm wide kitchen cabinet.

The solution for special installation techniques 

Premium kitchens are increasingly departing from standard materials and installation techniques to realize creative ideas and customized solutions. Fronts without handles, higher worktops heavier materials or an additional front panel in two parts have long since ceased to be an exception. The weight of the door panels in these realizations places special demands on the door hinges. Especially for these situations, AEG is introducing two new dishwashers, FHK74707P and FHK74706P, with premium sliding hinges with a maximum load capacity of up to 15 kg*. These XXL-capacity ProClean™ models fall into energy efficiency class C and feature QuickSelect controls with ECO meter, a satellite spray arm and ComfortRails in the upper basket. Model FHK74707P additionally features a MaxiFlex cutlery drawer. 

The new ProBlackLine SteamCrisp oven BSK772281B features several functions where steam is added to the hot air throughout the baking process. This is ideal for preparing meat dishes and baking bread. This is because the combination of hot air and steam ensures a crispy, golden brown crust, while the inside remains juicy and tender (meat) and airy (bread). But vegetables also become crispy and remain juicy.

Another important function is steam regeneration. Regenerating is a way to reheat or keep already cooked dishes warm without deteriorating quality. By using steam, a dish does not dry out and is just as tasty as when just cooked. The use of steam is also an excellent choice for defrosting. The oven also features a core temperature sensor and combines the benefits of steam with the convenience of Pyroluxe® Plus self-cleaning. 

The AEG BSK772281B comes standard with an Easy2Clean griddle and is available from November 2023.

SenseBoil&Fry®

Baking and overcooking are exactly those things enthusiastic cooks want to avoid at all times. Everyone knows it: the first pancakes always fail because the oil is not hot enough or too hot. And if you are not careful, the water boils over. Within the existing range, you could already choose a cooktop with the SenseFry® or SenseBoil® function, respectively. With the four new, 80 cm wide, induction cooktops, AEG now combines both in one model: SenseBoil&Fry®. The hobs are equipped with smart sensors that automatically maintain the right temperature and prevent overcooking. Whether frying eggs or making a stew. 

The CookSmart touch display makes cooking even easier. Select a dish, follow the instructions and the cooktop does the rest. It is even possible to save favorites and the user is given tips on how to cook more energy-efficiently. Because of this and thanks to the smart, user-friendly and energy-saving SenseBoil® and SenseFry® functions, these new hobs are part of the AEG EcoLine range.

Not everyone is looking for an extractor hood that makes a striking statement in the kitchen interior. The new, 90 cm wide, EcoLine extractor units from AEG therefore rid the kitchen of fumes and odors (almost) invisibly. They can be built in above the cooktop, in an upper cabinet or chimney. The underside blends effortlessly into its surroundings and, with an extraction rate of up to 750 m3/h, they do their job perfectly. These economical models (energy efficiency class A) feature convenient fingertip controls and energy-saving LED lighting. the cooktop is switched on, leaving the user's hands free to prepare the tastiest dishes. The new extractor units are available in black (GDE689HB) and stainless steel (GDE689HM). Determinants of the atmosphere in the home include the light sources. And the need for the amount of light and what light heat varies from moment to moment. Because more and more kitchens are part of the living room, AEG introduces Perfect Illumination in the 8000- and 9000-series extractor hoods. With Perfect Illumination, the color temperature can be easily adjusted, with different settings between 2700-5000 Kelvin. With perfect visibility while cooking in Cool Mode and a pleasant atmosphere during dinner when Warm Mode is selected. All 8000- and 9000-series range hoods also feature SilenceTech, a technology that ensures that the hood does its job silently, during cooking or afterwards. If that's not quiet enough, the Silentium Kit provides relief. This noise-reducing silencer is available as an accessory and can reduce the noise level in recirculation mode by up to 5 dB(A). The silencer is available in two different sizes. The M8CKSL28 is 28 cm high and the M8CKSL07 is 7 cm. The dampers can be linked together for a perfect custom solution. They will be available from October 2023.
