If you ask Wendy Kap, Marketing - Sales Advisor at Arpa Netherlands how the recently organized MaterialDistrict was experienced, the answer is clear. "We are very satisfied. We were able to show a lot from our new range. Moreover, the common thread of our story remains that we continue to innovate but also take actions every time that are good for the environment."
"Our ambitions are big," she continues. "By 2030 we want to be entirely carbon neutral as a company. We are well on our way with that. For example, FENIX® is already produced CO2 neutral. One of our core values is to keep the function and value of all our products and materials as high as possible so that we can extend the life span. This prevents a product from becoming waste too quickly. This is how we contribute to a sustainable world."
Yet Wendy also acknowledges that the term "sustainability" needs some further explanation. "Well, what is it really? It has become a catch-all term by now. Anyway, let me make it concrete..."
Bloom Bathroom by LEM.
"An important part of our company's sustainable and environmentally friendly vision is the award winning BLOOM core technology. In this technology, the phenolic resin used in the core has been reduced by 50% and replaced with Lignin; a natural polymer described as the glue that holds wood fibers together. Thanks to this technique, we can say that the main ingredients for our BLOOM products come from responsibly managed forests. So you can't get any more sustainable! Circularity, well-being and energy transition go hand in hand here!"
The Arpa unique color HPL comes standard with this BLOOM core technology, Wendy says. "FENIX was already available in four colors with BLOOM technology. At the fair, we showed our six beautiful new FENIX BLOOM colors; Viola Orissa, Blu Shaba, Rosso Namib, Verde Kitami, Giallo Evora and Grigio Aragona. They are all beautiful distinct colors with all the properties of the innovative material: extremely matte surface, soft to the touch, anti-fingerprint - (h)fair in the kitchen! - and thermal repair of small surface scratches. The new colors enrich the distinctive and they enhance the visual uniqueness."
"During the show, we also introduced the public to our newest product TUET," says Wendy. "This is the new deep surface HPL for vertical applications in interior design. The feel is characterized by its dancing wavy structure that creates an atmosphere of well-being. TUET is inspired by the Piedmont marsh reeds along the Tanaro River. It invites to touch; the waves of its deep surface feel soft and pleasant. After all, in the kitchen the eye wants something too!"
The reactions during the fair were nothing short of positive, laughs Wendy. "Visitors responded enthusiastically! Moreover, TUET is seen as a beautiful and budget-friendly alternative to veneer."
TUET is available, through its distributors (Baars en Boemhoff, Blok Plaatmateriaal, Holland Laminati and Lark Plaat), in two decorative woods: Caravella light and Caravella dark. These wood colors can be combined excellently with color and materials.
