Gut Böckel welcomes the kitchen professional with open arms

A trade show is often described as an exhibition or "showcase" of new products or services from different companies in a specific sector. If only visitors who are professionally active in that sector attend, we speak of a trade fair. Whoever thinks trade fair probably thinks of an exhibition building or complex where numerous exhibitors in a hall give the best of themselves. Gut Böckel is a wonderful alternative, a historic setting taken up and transformed into a kitchen trade fair. A must visit.

Gut Böckel is a beautifully renovated estate where kitchen exhibitors and professionals feel right at home.

Gut Böckel

Gut Böckel. The name alone puts a smile on the face of the kitchen professional. Because it is and remains an atypical location to look for the latest kitchen innovations from numerous international brands. Surrounded by fields and bathed in sunshine, the Küchenmeile 2024 got underway there. The influx of cars in the parking lots immediately suggested the best. Despite the turbulent times that the kitchen sector, and other sectors worldwide of course, are experiencing, we felt a positive vibe. No resignation, no negativism, just the right dose of realism with it immediately added that the turnaround has begun and light is beginning to appear on the horizon. And for the second time, some of the top brands exhibiting there joined forces to pamper visitors from the Benelux. From now on, Sunday evening will be known as Benelux evening.

ATAG

ATAG takes cooking to the next level with the Elevate™. One of the strengths of this cooktop with integrated extractor is its low noise level. During cooking it is less than 60 db(A), low enough to hold a conversation without having to shout. But ATAG also goes for high-level cooking and does so with the Celsius°Cooking™ principle. "Cooking on modes we already know, Celsius°Cooking™ adds the ultimate in temperature control," we learn during the tour. "After all, you can set the temperature of each cooking zone down to the degree. So there's no more stress about getting a dish perfect. Moreover, our special Celsius°Cooking™ recipe website helps every cook a long way with video tutorials of hundreds of recipes as well as step-by-step cooking guidance. So always a perfect dish on the table!"

Beko

That Beko sets great store by sustainability was something we were once again able to discover during the Küchenmeile. Because in addition to the ovens with AirFry function, Split&Cook and AeroPerfect, the refrigerators with HarvestFresh technology and the dishwashers with SaveWater technology, Beko drew our attention to the ambitious sustainability goals it has set to achieve by 2030. For example, Beko aims to reduce energy and water consumption during production by as much as 45%, also run production entirely on green electricity and capture and recycle 70% of the water used. We read the most striking figure in waste because Beko wants to achieve 99% of waste recovery.

Bauknecht

For a new 3-in-1 compact oven with traditional oven technology, steam and microwave but without a dial, we had to come to Bauknecht. This newcomer is the showpiece in a whole new collection of ovens and microwaves that the manufacturer showed kitchen professionals at Gut Böckel. What is present in the oven, which is 45 cm high and has a capacity of no less than 52 liters, are useful functions such as Dynamic Crisp and CrispFry, for example.

Jetstone

The steady rise of the Japandi style has not escaped Jetstone's notice either. Jetstone's traditional collaboration with Keller Kitchens during the Küchenmeile could not fail to include a kitchen in this style. Jetstone incorporated two colors of Caesarstone ceramics into the country classic kitchen, Mosstone and Isobellia. Mosstone, a ceramic with a natural look and satin finish, was used for the cladding of the robust island unit while the entire sink section of this kitchen, a true eye-catcher, is made of Isobellia. With the generous back wall, the light base and especially the golden brown vein of Isobellia stand out very nicely.

Keller Kitchens

Warm tones and earthy hues will drive out cool tones in 2025. That, at least, is Keller Kitchens' forecast. The manufacturer turns this forecast into concrete newcomers in the Comfort and Trend Collection (ribbing, calm wood decors and a luxury frame front will be added) and the new color Fossil Gray that is a bit warmer than the cooler gray that will disappear. Also a lot of attention to the biobased kitchen enduura®. This is manufactured without the use of primary raw materials. So what does Keller Kitchens use? Sunflower seeds, for example, are the basic ingredient of the glue but wood sawdust and cane sugar are also essential elements in the production process. "An enduura® kitchen is completely recyclable and that, too, fits perfectly into the story," says the manufacturer.

Miele

An additional color in the Miele firmament because in addition to graphite gray, matte or glossy obsidian black and CleanSteel stainless steel, there is now Pearl Beige, a neutral and warm hue that Miele obtains by mixing gray and beige. "Combine this soft earth tone with dark wood or black accents and give your kitchen a striking yet warm look," the manufacturer tips. "Pearl Beige shows up particularly well in our design line ArtLine. The handleless appliances in this series open simply with the touch of a finger. Soon we will release ovens, steam ovens and ovens with microwaves in the new color, later complemented by fully automatic built-in coffee machines, warming and vacuum drawers."

SMEG

SMEG succeeds wonderfully in immersing a piece of Gut Böckel in an Italian atmosphere every edition of the Küchenmeile. This time, too, it was buzzing with Italian activity, both inside and outside. Inside, we saw a first SMEG appliance integrating the well-known technology of coffee specialist La Pavoni, now bought five years ago by SMEG. Further expansion of the collection of built-in appliances and design lines also received due attention as SMEG adds a new collection of refrigerators to its range with Dolomite. "Bringing professional technology and beautiful design together in one unit is what we are now doing at Dolomite," it sounded during our tour. "For example, each refrigerator includes photo-catalytic filter technology that reduces much of the bacteria and odors in the refrigerator, thus keeping food fresh longer." Dolomite is more than just refrigerators; freezers and wine cabinets are also part of the range.

Whirlpool

The dishwasher has become almost indispensable in every kitchen, which prompted Whirlpool to look at and optimize all of its components. A clever adaptation of the motor turned out to be a stroke of genius because it allowed up to 10% more space inside without changing the overall dimensions of the dishwasher. A system with three racks can also be flexibly adjusted so that even larger items can easily find their place. Tall glasses in the upper rack, wine glasses and plates up to 19 cm in the middle rack and the extra-large plates, think for example pizza plates, up to 32 cm in the lower rack. The upper rack received from Whirlpool its own flushing system with integrated water jets so that every nook and cranny is reached in the formed SpaceClean zone.

MHK

MHK's message at the Küchenmeile was clear: "These may be challenging times, but we are a reliable partner who supports you. With our services, both known and new concepts, we continue to successfully support entrepreneurs in their daily business operations. We are the right, strong partner in this story, hence our exhibition motto 'A perfect match' but we also understand very well the core business of all our partners."

Blank

Blanco is very clearly setting its sights forward and looking forward to 2025. After all, the manufacturer will be 100 years old by then, an important milestone that will not go unnoticed. "With a lot of novelties this year, our focus was therefore on the one hand on continuing to promote these innovations and the upcoming anniversary of the company," Blanco said. Still, we noted some announced news, including an update to the SINGOLO XL waste garbage can and a new variant in the KANO faucet family.
