Prestigious design award rewards Belgian specialist for innovative kitchen lighting

Good news for Novy, manufacturer and supplier of stylish lighting elements for the kitchen. For years, the company has been committed to creating more atmosphere in the kitchen (logical too, after all, it has become much more of a visible part of the home!) and this passionate commitment has now been rewarded with a Red Dot Design Award for the Novy Shelf Pro, an elegant and practical wall shelf with state-of-the-art LED lighting.

"We are obviously honored by this international design award," states Olivier Lambert, marketing director at Novy. "The acquisition of Dutch lighting manufacturer Jansen & De Bont in 2022 already showed that we attach increasing importance to lighting as a distinctive element. Because smart use of functional light combined with ambient light is now essential for those who want to enjoy the kitchen to the fullest."

The Red Dot Awards jury appreciated the consistently implemented clean design, clever use of color and recognizable style elements of the Novy Shelf Pro. They provide unity in kitchen lighting and consistency with the range hood and cooktop. The Novy Shelf Pro is made of sandblasted and anodized aluminum, resulting in an elegant matte black finish.

The unique control of the light was also popular. Olivier explains: "Under the name 'gesture control' the width of the light beam can be adjusted with simple hand gestures, but colors can also be chosen, or one can choose between mood light or functional lighting. This choice obviously depends on what is going on in the kitchen at that moment: is it a social gathering with the family or friends, or does one need some additional lighting to see if the food is already cooked?"

According to Olivier, a modern kitchen gives users a calming feeling. "Novy Shelf Pro makes a great contribution to this. The minimalist design forms a beautiful silhouette on the wall. In addition to extra space for accessories, Novy Shelf Pro provides the optimum light on the worktop thanks to the integrated lighting. With this, Novy proves that functionality, design and technology can go hand in hand."

The Novy Shelf Pro has been produced in Kuurne (B) since this year. Consumer price between €1,299 and €1,799 including VAT.
