If you put two devices close together, they will naturally affect each other. So you have to take that into account when creating a side-by-side setup. "Especially when it comes to devices with low temperatures, 0°C and colder, or when two devices are next to each other with strong temperature differences," explains David Christiane of Liebherr. "We need to prevent condensation in this case. Many of our built-in appliances therefore have a built-in heating system in the top and/or side walls to prevent condensation. That makes those appliances problem-free to combine with other built-in appliances."

Trouble-free combining

David: "Our innovative heating system heats the top panel, the side panels or all panels. Different combinations are possible which means that different side-by-side setups are also among the possibilities. Vertical and horizontal. A freezer with a recess height of 72 or
88 centimeters and a heated top panel is vertically combinable, for example, with a refrigerator or wine cabinet of equal recess height. If a consumer prefers a combination of appliances side by side, he should choose a freezer with heated side panels. Combining can be done with appliances of equal recess height. Vertical combination with a freezer or refrigerator is done with an appliance with heated top panel and heated side panels. Combinations with all appliances up to a recess height of 178 centimeters on both sides are then certainly possible."

Freestanding or built-in?

The choice of a freestanding side-by-side combination or a built-in refrigeration wall in the kitchen is one of personal taste. "With us, both are indeed possible," David emphasizes.
