Recently, about 20 editors and journalists boarded a beautiful boat arranged by Geberit. The journalists were "lured" with the announcement that there was news in the field of shower toilets. And they didn't come for nothing. With Geberit AquaClean Alba, shower toilets with a recommended price of around 1,000 euros excluding VAT become more than affordable.
It remains a challenging product that does not yet sell itself. Nevertheless, Geberit managed to "trigger" the press present with a video that speaks for itself. In the video, the Swiss sanitary manufacturer shows that we always choose water to clean something. If we have shaved with a blade and there are still remnants of shaving cream on the face or legs. We clean ourselves with water and not a dry piece of paper. Similarly, if we have dirty hands, we clean ourselves with water and again, not a piece of paper. Mud on our floor? We grab a mop with water and not just a piece of paper...then the next shot follows. Two men sitting on the toilet with the recurring question. Water or paper? The clip works extremely well and is more than apt. Whereas in other parts of the world a shower toilet is actually more normal than the use of toilet paper, in Europe this is different.
Geberit realizes that the change in the use of shower toilets will take some time. Top designer Christoph Behling (also designer of the Geberit AquaClean Alba) also points this out during his presentation. "It's going to take years, maybe a decade, before Europe converts from toilet paper to shower toilets."
Christoph is satisfied that the Geberit AquaClean Alba has removed a bump in the road for many people. After all, the price of a shower toilet was hefty. The Alba has assumed a more than friendly consumer price. For a product that people, who have tried a shower toilet, say they don't want to live without, this is an important step in the process of purchasing a shower toilet. Shower toilets are becoming accessible to the general public in terms of price with the advent of the Alba.
Geberit AquaClean Alba focuses on the essential functions of a shower toilet; a refreshing WhirlSpray shower spray, powerful TurboFlush flushing technology, water at body temperature, an automatic descaling program, a remote control, including a wall bracket plus a design by top designer Christoph Behling. And all at a modest additional cost compared to a conventional wall-mounted toilet.
The newly developed mounting element and optimized packaging makes installation of the AquaClean Alba even easier.
So the design of AquaClean Alba comes from top designer Christoph Behling, just like the other AquaClean shower toilet models. When designing the latest family member, Christoph prioritized simplicity and elegance, reminiscent of a conventional toilet, with the technical unit concealed in the ceramic. AquaClean Alba, like the other AquaClean models, is made of very high-quality materials. With the Alba, the step from a normal toilet to a shower toilet is feasible for everyone, whether private individuals, hotels, residential complexes, office buildings or cruise ships. "Consumers are already encountering shower toilets in hotels and restaurants, and this will only increase with the arrival of the Alba. 'To use is to want to have,' we have always been told. Because of the price, this makes the step to purchasing one seem smaller than ever. That one day we will switch to shower toilets is probably not in doubt. The question, however, is how quickly people will switch. With the AquaClean Alba, Geberit is in any case taking a more than firm step in the right direction," says Christoph.
